I am joining Houdini Magic Ticket blogathon held by Dan from Top 10 films. The theme is “What film do you dream being a part of?” Dan’s idea was from a movie called Last Action Hero (which I have not seen before). I like the topic because it’s always fun to have a fantasy, especially being transported into your favorite movie.
I have a bunch of movies in my mind. I think many would pick movies that have great adventure, but as I analyze I think I prefer the experience. But I can’t decide which to pick so I pick two movies I want the most. They are…
Dead Poets Society (1995)

Those who watched the movie knows the quote “O Captain, My Captain!” That phrase is from an English literature and quoted by one of the shyest kid in the class for Mr. Keating. Now it feels like it’s a nerdy pick since this movie is about boarding school students. But I really want to meet Mr. John Keating, a.k.a the inspiring English professor (played by Robin Williams). At that young age many teenagers just want to have fun and I am not different, but to have someone who pushes you to have an open mind and teaches you to dream big in that early age, it must be inspiring. If I were to be someone in the movie, it must’ve been Todd (Ethan Hawke). And if I am being him, I’ll stop my roommate to have a short way of thinking.
Before Sunrise (1995)

It’s must’ve been compulsively exciting to be in Europe and meet an attractive stranger on the train, then spend the whole day just talking and connect. Before Sunrise has its own uniqueness, sweet and you have to admit, romantic. Though I am shy to admit, to have that kind of romantic experience is very much precious. You’ll be able to look back and remember the lovely times, even if the relationship won’t last.
***************
That’s my picks. Readers, what do you think? And what movie do you dream to be a part of?

I love ‘Before Sunrise’. It has that same ethereal quality of other ‘travel’ movies that I love like ‘Lost in Translation’. I decided to just focus on one magical place in my piece. Hope you come check it out.

good choice.
Yes, I love travel movies. It does like ‘Lost in Translation’ only minus the lonely part. Thanks for visiting Max.
Oh I’d love to have Mr. John Keating as my professor, too. Oh and some of the students are pretty cute also
I also pick a European setting for the last question… it’s just so enchanting!

I haven’t seen either of these films but they’re both of my rental list, along with Before Sunset.
I think I’ll really enjoy Before Sunrise, Hawke is a good actor and I think I’ll enjoy the European setting.

Inception is a great choice, challenging and surely fantastic. Thanks Lesya.
You really have to watch it Lesya, knowing your taste I’m pretty sure you will love it!

Agree with Nostra. You definitely should
The Dead Poets Society! I really admire your choice and your reasons. “Oh Captain, My Captain” is from a poem by Walt Whitman. I think John Keating and Mr. Whitman would have enjoyed each others company. And this is one role that Robin Williams just nailed. Thanks for reminding me of it, Andina.
