This edition of Soundtrack Compilations, I pick two light but feel-good movies; Our Idiot Brother (2011) which I just have seen and Forgetting Sarah Marshall (2008), one of my favorites last year. Different from usual, I gave you each 3 songs because I surprisingly enjoy them all.
OST Forgetting Sarah Marshall (2008)
Though I already seen the movie couple of months ago, I didn’t notice until now that the movie has some great, easy listening tracks. The stars in it also contribute their song that some of them performed in a movie, like Russell Brand’s Infant Sorrow and some of Jason Segel’s character song creations. Check out acoustic track from Jesse Harris, Secret Sun, and upbeat, catchy track from The Coconutz’s, These Boots Are Made For Walkin’. But I love the most these 3 tracks :
Belle And Sebastian – Get Me Away From Here I’m Dying (Track #4)
The Bird And The Bee – Fucking Boyfriend (Track #8)
Appear but not included in the soundtrack list, is The Smiths‘ Heaven Knows I’m Miserable Now.

OST Our Idiot Brother (2011)
Like Paul Rudd’s simple minded man character in Our Idiot Brother, most of the songs are acoustics and peaceful to hear, there’s also a bit of country (Midnight Rider), from the real classics like Carole King and indie rock track by Generationals. You could check other samples in this link.
When They Fight, They Fight – Generationals (Track #4)
Beautiful – Carole King (Track #16)
Taking You With Me – Daniel Tashian (Track #8)

This kind of movies really annoy me, so lame. I don’t know, Zooey Deschanel looks and sounds quite bothering too. I guess there is a huge lack of the good comedies like we had back in 90′s, don’t you think?

Hi, Sophie. Have you watch them? They appear lame, though but I didn’t feel they are that lame once I watch them. But I agree good comedies (genuine one) is rare nowadays. Yes, the ’90s comedy have their own appeal. Thanks for visiting!

I wasn’t a big fan of Forgetting Sarah Marshall. I thought it was more pleasant than funny. Great soundtrack picks though!

I agree. I blame the poster for making it look like a class-B comedy. But I couldn’t help but laughed back when I watch it though. Thanks, Castor!

I have yet to see Our Idiot Brother but I love this feature! Belle and Sebastian are my all time favourite band, so really enjoying their mention here! Can’t go wrong with The Smiths either

I like the track from Belle & Sebastian, and aren’t familiar with other tracks from them. The Smiths, too bad their track wasn’t an official soundtrack. Nice to know you enjoying this post, great! Thanks Amy
