I’m Not There (2007) is a movie biopic directed by Todd Haynes, inspired by the famous American musician, singer and writer, Bob Dylan. The icon was represented by six different actors; Christian Bale, Cate Blanchett, Heath Ledger, Richard Gere, Marcus Carl Franklin and Ben Whishaw. Each tells different layers of characters of him, each with different names. Melancholia tells a story about two sisters, Justine (Kirsten Dunst) and Claire (Charlotte Gainsbourg). The movie is divided by two chapters of both characters, and sets in a beautiful castle during a welcoming of a strange planet that eventually will crash the Earth.
The movie starts with Justine’s wedding day reception. Justine seems like a happy woman, with her white wedding dress, a loving new husband and a great career. As the reception starts late because of the limousine incident, it continues to fall apart when both’s divorced parents openly fight each other during a toast. Though Justine looks happy, but she starts to feel doubts on her marriage seeing her parents’ experience. The night gets darker when Justine realizes that she couldn’t continue the marriage.
